Following the devastating tragedy in Benue State, prominent Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Okechukwu Pascal, often known as Chief Priest, has joined the growing chorus of people calling on President Bola Tinubu to put an end to public grazing.

According to ZINGTIE, the well-known bartender asked Tinubu to act quickly by banning open grazing nationwide in an Instagram post.

He emphasized the value of ranching as a safer and more sustainable option.

Chief Priest added that self-defense is not a criminal and asked the Benue people to put their safety first.

He wrote,“My President, make that order now!!! End public grazing. The level of damage done is brutal. This madness has to stop. Feed your cattle in your ranches.

“Benue people sharpen your sword⚔️. No gree for anybody to kpai you. To defend yourselves no be crime!!!.”

In the meantime, Tinubu has promised that if land-grabbing is discovered to be the cause of the frequent attacks in Benue State, especially the most recent slaughter in Yelwata, the Federal Government will address the matter directly.

Tinubu stated that Nigeria must cease the violence that has killed hundreds of people and uprooted entire communities during a town hall meeting with stakeholders on Wednesday in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

According to ZINGTIE, the President said, “We were not elected to bury people and have orphans and orphanages. We will work with you to achieve peace.”

The President ordered a comprehensive approach to resolve the growing tension over land issues.
