After informing his wife that he was in Northern Ireland, the husband died in Lagos while visiting his girlfriend.
After discreetly visiting his fiancée in Lagos and telling her that he planned to attend a two-week lecture in Northern Ireland, a British woman learns of her Nigerian husband’s sad death.
A number of messages on the social networking site X, formerly known as Twitter, revealed the facts.
In a series of heartfelt posts on X, the woman shared her story and disclosed that her husband had informed her that he was going to Northern Ireland for a business conference. But a few days later, she got a startling phone call telling her that he had died in a car accident in Nigeria.
“My husband told me he was travelling to Northern Ireland for a lecture, which is to last for two weeks,” she said emotionally in the post. But then I got a call saying he was in a hospital in Lagos, fighting for his life. I couldn’t believe it.”
“My husband flew from the UK to Nigeria just to cheat and he di£d there. My husband and I were married for 15 good years and we had 3 kids. I’m a British woman, we met here in the UK, we fell in love and got married.”
The grieving widow remembered that she had gone with her husband on several of his frequent visits to Nigeria, which he took once or twice a year. However, she had no knowledge of any adultery.
“He kept in touch through video calls, especially when he said he was back at the hotel. But one day, he didn’t answer. I kept calling, and eventually someone picked up and said he had an accident.”
The news of her husband’s death was later revealed by his younger sibling. “I asked, ‘Wasn’t he in Northern Ireland?’ My in-law said no he was in Lagos the whole time.”
Then the heartbreaking reality struck: “My husband lied to me. He flew from the UK to Nigeria just to cheat and he ended up losing his life there. I rushed to Nigeria to see things for myself,” said the woman.
For the wife, that is double grief.
