A warning has been issued to the Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamorudeen Ogunlana, concerning the possibility of legal action should she be denied the opportunity to return to plenary on Monday.
This caution was outlined in a letter dated September 10, authored and endorsed by her legal representative, Chief Michael Numa, SAN.
She affirmed her intention to pursue legal action should the National Assembly ignore a standing court directive permitting her return.
“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter read.
In the correspondence, her lawyer emphasized that ignoring the court’s decision would amount to a breach of constitutional provisions as well as a violation of the Code of Conduct applicable to public officials.
She also indicated plans to file contempt charges and push for disciplinary steps, stressing that the clerk would be held accountable for provoking disorder.
“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders,” the letter added.
