Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians not to vote for him based on tribal or religious sentiments.

He made this statement during an interview on Arise TV on Monday night.

Obi, who recently joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after leaving the Labour Party (LP), is planning to run for office again in the 2027 general elections.

However, Obi urged voters to select him because of his commitment to addressing Nigeria’s challenges.

“I’ve said before do not vote for me because I’m from the South East. Do not vote for me because I am a Christian,” Obi said.

“Vote for me because I am committed to turning Nigeria around.”

“And I will do it, starting from the North, because I know where the problem is.”

“I will start bringing back the productivity that made the North safe.”

“We will move the country from consumption to production. From sharing wealth to creating it.”
