Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been hit with a fresh petition over allegations that he travelled with a passenger who allegedly used false identities.

The petition, dated July 12, 2026, was addressed to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, with copies forwarded to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The document was reportedly authored by an individual who identified himself as a concerned employee in Nigeria’s aviation sector and called for an immediate investigation into what he described as repeated violations of aviation security, regulatory procedures and passenger safety involving Obi and a female passenger.

According to the petitioner, the woman, identified as one of Obi’s media aides, had earlier been barred from flying with Air Peace over alleged repeated misconduct and confrontations at airport facilities.

The petition further alleged that despite the ban, the woman continued to board Air Peace flights by allegedly using different names, with Obi reportedly travelling alongside her on several occasions.

It also claimed that Obi allegedly facilitated arrangements that enabled the passenger to keep flying under different identities despite the airline’s restrictions.

The petition stated, “Despite this restriction, Peter Obi made arrangements repeatedly for this media thug to continue travelling under a different name in order to circumvent the airline’s decision.

“Such conduct by him undermines aviation security, compromises passenger identification procedures, and interferes with our airline’s ability to enforce lawful safety measures.”

According to the petitioner, airline personnel were allegedly prevented from conducting proper identity verification whenever Obi travelled with the passenger.

“Every time we stop her, he prevents us from checking her identity, even after she is reported by our staff on ground. Evidence of these flight tickets have also been attached as he is even on some of the Passenger Name Record, PNR,” the petition added.
