The Presidency has launched a fresh criticism of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, Peter Obi.

The attack came through a statement posted on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his verified X account.

In the statement, Onanuga described Obi as a copy-and-paste politician and argued that he lacks the capacity to rival President Bola Tinubu politically.

He further alleged that Obi has little to point to as evidence of achievement during his eight-year tenure as governor of Anambra State.

According to the presidential aide, Tinubu left behind a comprehensive rail and road masterplan during his time as governor of Lagos State, a blueprint that continues to be implemented years after he left office.

“Peter Obi has never shown original, authentic thinking. He is a copy-and-paste politician. Willie Obiano, his successor, said Obi failed spectacularly in providing security in the state.

“Nigeria deserves a leader who can see beyond the ken of the ordinary people, a leader who is a proven deep thinker and doer.

“Peter Obi is no match for President Bola Tinubu. They are not on the same level,” he said.
