Rivers: Fresh Claims Emerge Over Fubara’s Deal With Wike

Former Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has alleged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s decision to remove the state’s Secretary to the Government (SSG) and Chief of Staff was part of an agreement reached with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

ZINGTIE recalls that Governor Fubara dismissed the former SSG, Benibo Anabraba, and his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, on February 26.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV on Thursday, Ewor claimed the removal of the two officials was one of the outcomes of negotiations between Wike and Fubara following the end of the state of emergency declared in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.

The former PDP acting chairman alleged that the governor reached several understandings with the FCT minister, “including removing the Chief of Staff and the SSG from office”.

He further claimed that Fubara “during that negotiation, agreed not to run for a second term”, while accusing the governor of allegedly misleading his supporters.

Governor Fubara had on Tuesday announced that he had returned to Wike’s political camp and urged his supporters to vote for the minister’s endorsed candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
