Senator Shehu Sani, the former senator who stood in for the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, responded to a video that went viral in which a Muslim preacher called for the murder of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady of Nigeria, calling her an unbeliever and an infidel.

Senator Shehu Sani responded by pointing out that it is within the bounds of democratic rights to criticize the government and its policies. He also stated that it is intolerable and utterly condemnable for a religious cleric to call for the assassination of First Lady Remi Tinubu.

Senator Shehu Sani revealed this in a post he published on his official X handle on Thursday afternoon in response to the cleric’s purported statement.

He wrote: “Criticizing the Government and its policies is within the ambit of democratic rights; but Calling for the killing of Senator Remi Tinubu by the religious cleric is unacceptable and utterly condemnable.”

Recall how recently a particular video became popular on social media. A Muslim cleric called Remi Tinubu, the first lady of Nigeria, an unbeliever and an infidel who ought to be killed in the video, as mentioned above. The cleric continued, saying that the reason is because she is a leader among the unbelievers.
