President Bola Tinubu has expressed satisfaction that states across Nigeria are no longer battling difficulties in paying workers’ salaries as witnessed before he assumed office on May 29, 2024.

The President made the remark on Friday in Lagos while receiving members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum during a Sallah homage at his residence.

The delegation was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Tinubu noted that the financial condition of many states had improved significantly compared to the situation before his administration came into power.

According to him: “Today, I was watching some clips of the Sokoto-Badagry corridor. Imagine how many dams could be built along that corridor for irrigation, farming, and electricity generation. Many of you have survived and promoted the perseverance of our people, encouraging them to trust in this government.

“You have built that trust around one person: my leadership. I thank you very much. I am truly grateful. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to Almighty God that we are here together to share our thoughts and developmental programs.

“I am glad that out of the 27 governors borrowing from the federal government and asking for interventions, we are no longer struggling to pay salaries. No more.”
