The beneficiaries were drawn from various groups, including market women and men, tradesmen and artisans, and members of transport unions and community development associations. Oluwaloni added, “These grants are more than financial support; they are a testament to our belief in your ingenuity, resilience, and determination.”
The Executive Chairman emphasised that the initiative aims to nurture a culture of enterprise, promote financial independence, and ensure that every citizen has a stake in the community’s growth. “This is not just a programme; it is a movement to transform lives and rewrite the economic story of Ayobo-Ipaja,” he said.
The Elegbeda of Egbeda, Oba Ahmed Orelope-Laka, praised the initiative, saying, “Let me say categorically that this type of empowerment is new to me in this Ayobo-Ipaja community. This is the first of its kind, for a chairman to empower residents with this huge amount of money to support businesses. We really appreciate this kind gesture for the grassroots residents.
