A key focus of the grant is to launch a large-scale research initiative and establish two new medical school professorship funds. Additionally, $15 million will support vital mental health research through the U-M Eisenberg Center, furthering the university’s mission to improve healthcare outcomes.

Kenneth Eisenberg, retired head of Kenwal Steel company and devoted philanthropist, expressed his family’s commitment to creating a healthier future. “Our family and our foundation believe in the power of investing in a healthier future for all,” he said. “We continue our deep commitment to service through this gift to our community and the people of Michigan, and in honor of Frances’s life and mission.”

This gift not only advances medical research and education but also honors the memory of Frances Eisenberg, who passed away in November. The Eisenberg Foundation’s dedication to philanthropy and community service is evident in this significant investment in Michigan’s healthcare future
