The grants, provided as general operating support, offer flexibility and stability for each recipient to advance their mission. Additionally, cohort members will participate in a series of convenings and professional development opportunities to foster connection, share knowledge, and bolster the field.
Recipients include a diverse range of organizations, such as the American Poetry Museum, Cave Canem, and Indigenous Nations Poets, each receiving grants ranging from $150,000 to $450,000.
Poetry Foundation president Michelle T. Boone stated, “At a time when access to arts funding is diminishing, the Poetry Foundation had the opportunity to provide poetry organizations with sustained, unrestricted support. The new multi-year funding model allows these grantee-partners the freedom to plan for the future as they fill gaps in the communities they serve, creating more stability in the literary arts.”
This initiative demonstrates the Poetry Foundation’s commitment to nurturing the poetry field and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
