Victor Osimhen, the striker for Galatasaray, has cautioned Liverpool to avoid excessive confidence as they prepare for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 match.

The Turkish team will head to Anfield with a slim 1-0 advantage from the first leg on Tuesday.

Mario Lemina scored early on, with an assist from Osimhen.

The 27-year-old has now praised the unity among the players and the squad as they triumphed over the Premier League champions.

“We are a family together with the Galatasaray fans. We did a very good job today,” Osimhen said.

He added: “I think we can hurt Liverpool in the second leg. We have done a good job so far.”

Osimhen’s involvement in eight goals (seven scored, one assisted) in this season’s Champions League marks a record for a Nigerian player within a single campaign.
