Former Arsenal FC midfielder, Patrick Vieira, has revealed the five current Gunners stars he believes are good enough to make it into the starting XI of the club’s legendary Invincibles team during the 2003/04 campaign.

Recall that the iconic side, managed by Arsène Wenger, famously became the first and only Premier League team to complete an entire season without suffering a defeat.

They won 26 matches, drew 12 and amassed 90 points at the end of the campaign to clinch the league title.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Vieira named Gabriel Magalhães, Bukayo Saka, David Raya, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice as the players from the current Arsenal squad who would earn a place in his former team.

“If I had to swap some Invincibles with current stars,” Vieira said, “I’d put David Raya in goal over Jens Lehmann.

“Jurrien Timber at right-back—I really like him. In central defense, I’d keep Sol Campbell but replace Kolo Toure with Gabriel.

“On the right wing, Bukayo Saka gets in ahead of Freddie Ljungberg. Up front, we are not touching Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. And I’d put Declan Rice in for Gilberto Silva and keep Robert Pires on the left.”
