Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Nyesom Wike-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has responded sharply to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma over his remarks concerning the Rainbow Coalition.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Anyanwu accused Uzodimma of being afraid of the political coalition.
ZINGTIE recalls that Uzodimma had earlier declared that President Bola Tinubu would secure organic votes in Imo State, insisting that the Rainbow Coalition did not exist in the state.
Reacting to the governor’s position, Anyanwu maintained that Uzodimma was apprehensive about the influence and significance of the Rainbow Coalition.
In the statement, Anyanwu said, “You’re afraid. The APC in Imo State and its leaders are afraid of PDP and the Rainbow Coalition.”
He claimed that residents of Imo State had come to the conclusion that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state had lost their support.
The PDP chieftain compared the APC in Imo State to an incurable Ebola disease.
He further argued that Uzodimma’s criticism of the Rainbow Coalition indicated that the group was already causing the governor considerable concern.
The former lawmaker insisted that the Rainbow Coalition was firmly established and would remain in place, adding that no level of intimidation by Uzodimma would be able to stop its activities.
