Former Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure is reportedly on the verge of securing his first role as a head coach, with Belgian second division side Daring Brussels, according to Sport.
Toure is currently serving as an assistant coach with the Saudi Arabian national team under head coach Hervé Renard.
In previous years, the ex-Manchester City star has held coaching positions at clubs such as Standard Liège, Akhmat Grozny, and Olimpik Donetsk.
He also spent time working with Tottenham Hotspur’s U-16 squad during Antonio Conte’s tenure at the Premier League club in 2022.
However, this potential appointment in Belgium would mark his debut as a first-team manager.
Toure, now 42, hung up his boots in 2019 after a successful playing career that included stints with Barcelona, Monaco, and Olympiacos.
He began pursuing his coaching qualifications shortly after playing a season with Chinese club Qingdao Hainiu.
Daring Brussels, the club he is expected to join, is owned by John Textor, who is also a stakeholder in Crystal Palace.
