Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has disclosed the national team he intends to support at the 2026 FIFA World Cup aside from his native Sweden.

The ex-Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain forward revealed that Croatia would have his backing during the tournament.

Ibrahimovic made the revelation while speaking on Fox Sports, where he also identified Group L as the section that interests him the most ahead of the competition.

The Swedish football icon explained that, beyond supporting his homeland, Croatia is the other nation he would be cheering on during the World Cup.

His comments have sparked conversations among football fans, particularly given Croatia’s impressive performances in recent major international tournaments.

Ibrahimovic, widely regarded as one of Sweden’s greatest footballers, enjoyed a remarkable international career and remains one of the most influential figures in world football.

The former striker’s endorsement is expected to draw additional attention to Croatia’s campaign as the countdown to the 2026 World Cup continues.

“Group L. We have England. We have Croatia. I’m supporting them in this tournament,” Ibrahimovic said.

“Then, we have Ghana with big talents. Let’s see what they bring. “We have Panama.

“Unfortunately, in this group, I think they will be a punching bag for England and Croatia, and Ghana might disturb them and take some points.”
