BREAKING: Former Science and Technology minister, Ogbonnaya Onu is dead

Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, a 2023 presidential election aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC), is dead.

According to information obtained by ZINGTIE, Onu, the first civilian governor of Abia State, passed away in Abuja on Thursday.

However, it has been discovered that the APC chieftain has been suffering from an undisclosed ailment. Details of the incident are still sketchy as of when this report was filed.

In the 2022 APC primary election, Onu alleged injustice against the people of Southeast in his final major public appearance.

Onu was appointed Minister of Science and Technology by former President Muhammadu Buhari in November 2015.

However, on May 6, 2022, the former governor resigned from his position to compete in the APC presidential primary, which President Bola Tinubu ultimately won.
