A mob of angry Nigerians in Northern Nigeria has demolished a Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 campaign billboard, expressing dissatisfaction with increased hunger and economic suffering under his administration.
The demonstrators, who have promised to vote against Tinubu in 2027, cited inflation, high food costs, and economic challenges as grounds for their outrage. Videos circulating online show activists screaming slogans and demanding quick government intervention to alleviate their plight.
Since Tinubu took power in May 2023, the country has experienced considerable economic issues, including rising discontent, particularly in the North, where Tinubu received significant votes in 2023. This has led to a political change as voters seek immediate economic relief.
Tinubu’s administration faces the challenge of regaining public trust, especially in Northern Nigeria, a key voting bloc. The hunger strike is a warning sign that failing to address economic issues could impact his re-election bid.
For now, the protests highlight deepening frustration, paving the way for a turbulent political landscape in 2027.
