The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general election in Oyo State, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, has alleged that one of his campaign billboards was removed in Ibadan.

Adegoke made the allegation in a statement released through his media office on Saturday.

He claimed that officials of the Oyo State Government unlawfully pulled down his billboard located at the Idi-Ape Junction in Ibadan, the state capital.

According to him, the billboard, which displayed his photograph alongside that of the ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was taken down and replaced with another banner featuring Governor Seyi Makinde, the APM presidential candidate and the APM governorship candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Bimbo Adekambi.

He described the alleged action as unlawful and unacceptable.

Adegoke further alleged that the current administration in the state was unsettled by what he described as Atiku Abubakar’s growing popularity.

“Such illegal act will not be tolerated and it cannot diminish the growing popularity of Oloye Adegoke and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in Ibadan and the entire Oyo State.

“Is this how we want to continue to play politics in Oyo state, behaving as if we are in a banana republic?

“Gov Makinde should not be jittery. He should be ready to face the electorate. As far as Oloye Adegoke and Alhaji Atiku are concerned, they are sure of victory come 2027,” he said.
