Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has vowed to overhaul state-run media outlets, including Radio Niger and Niger State Television.

As part of this effort, he revealed that the state government is currently carrying out a power usage assessment to pinpoint equipment with high energy consumption, with plans to shift towards a mini-grid energy solution.

He made this known while meeting with national leaders of RATTAWU at the Government House in Minna.

The governor underlined the crucial role of stable electricity in the effective functioning of media organizations and affirmed his administration’s readiness to work alongside the media in publicizing government initiatives and activities.

Supporting this stance, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hajiya Binta Mamman, stressed that the planned overhaul will significantly improve how information is shared and extend the government’s message to a wider population.
