Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, has directed all political appointees to place greater emphasis on the welfare of grassroots communities as part of his administration’s policy focused on unity and collective support.
This directive was contained in a press statement issued by Zainab S. Rabo, Senior Special Assistant on Media Affairs to the Governor.
She stated that the Governor made the remarks during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Dutse.
The Governor stressed that governance should remain people-oriented, urging appointees to demonstrate empathy, responsiveness, and commitment to improving the living conditions of citizens at all levels.
He reaffirmed that his administration is guided by the principle of mutual assistance, calling on officials to deepen their engagement with the public and respond effectively to their needs.
Governor Namadi further noted that effective leadership is demonstrated through service, compassion, and dedication to the welfare of the people.
His remarks come amid increasing complaints from members of the public regarding the perceived lack of support and assistance from some political office holders.
He observed that certain appointees claim they have little to offer in terms of support, despite the benefits they receive from their positions.
“Anybody who feels he earns nothing to use in supporting the public should resign,” Gov. Namadi noted.
