Ahead of the 2027 general election, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has cautioned Nigerians against voting for the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Lawal made the remarks on Monday while appearing on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today.

The former SGF warned that electing the ADC flag bearer could have serious consequences for the country.

According to him, “Atiku’s hurricane” possesses the potential to destabilize Nigeria if he eventually emerges as President in 2027.

“I’m saving you from the hurricane that is coming, Atiku’s hurricane will consume you, it will swallow you”, he stated.

Babachir further disclosed that if he were compelled to choose between Atiku Abubakar and President Bola Tinubu, his preference would be clear.

He maintained that despite the criticisms surrounding Tinubu’s administration, he would still consider him a better option.

“If there must be a choice between Atiku and Bola Tinubu, I believe that as bad as Tinubu’s presidency is now, he would be an excellent president compared to Atiku”, Babachir added.

ZINGTIE reports that the relationship between Atiku and the former SGF reportedly deteriorated following the ADC presidential primary election.
