Former Kano State Governor and vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has disclosed details of his recent private meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

Kwankwaso revealed this through a post on his official X handle on Saturday, a day after hosting Obi at his residence in Abuja.

According to the former governor, the engagement provided an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on important political and national matters.

He explained that the discussion centred on issues affecting the party as well as broader concerns relating to the future of the country.

Kwankwaso described the meeting as productive, noting that both leaders explored several key topics of mutual interest.

He said“Yesterday, I had the honour of hosting my brother and partner, His Excellency Peter Obi, at my residence in Abuja.

“I warmly welcomed him back from his highly productive international trip, and we engaged in frank and productive discussions on key partisan and national issues.

“Our party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), remains united. As leaders, we must continue to demonstrate maturity by making the necessary sacrifices and tolerating our differences in pursuit of our shared goal.

“We are resolute in this mission, and together, we shall ensure that Nigeria is OK.”

The meeting comes amid growing political activities within the NDC as preparations gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
