President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has travelled from Abuja to Makkah in Saudi Arabia to undertake Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage focused on worship and spiritual renewal.

The President departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday afternoon, heading to the holy city.

ZINGTIE reports that Umrah is an Islamic religious exercise that involves visiting Makkah for prayers, pilgrimage rites and spiritual reflection.

The Presidency said Tinubu’s visit is intended to provide an opportunity for spiritual contemplation and prayers for Nigeria.

During the pilgrimage, the President is expected to pray for the country’s peace, unity and development before returning to Nigeria after completing the religious rites.
