The armed bandits threatened to remarry the bride and sell off the other ladies after they captured women who were going with her to her married house in Damari, Sabuwa LGA in Katsina State.
ZINGTIE remembers that the bride and the others were ambushed by the daring bandits on Thursday of last week when they were travelling in an open van through the Sabuwa area.
During the tragic attack, the shooters murdered at least four members of a vigilante organisation.
Villagers claim that during the raid, at least 55 wedding guests were kidnapped and that the victims are currently being held captive.
However, the deadly bandits were shown threatening to marry the bride and sell the other prisoners if the ransom was not paid on time in a video clip that is currently making the rounds on social media.
ZINGTIE discovered that the attackers had gotten in touch with the victims’ relatives and were requesting N100 million as payment to release the hostages.
A gang leader wearing a police uniform was shown in the video claiming responsibility for the kidnapping and asserting that no one could save the victims.
“I am the one who abducted them, and I will never release them until ransom is paid. And if there is anyone who thinks they could rescue them, they should try it,” he said.
