Godswill Akpabio, President of the Nigerian Senate, has declared that the ongoing security crisis in the country will be resolved two weeks after the upcoming general elections.
Akpabio made the statement on Tuesday during the official launch of the Nigerian Revenue Service Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
He emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s performance has been impressive, and those who oppose him are resorting to inciting violence and funding insecurity.
“Insecurity is escalating because the elections are approaching, and people are unsure of what to do next,” Akpabio explained.
“Immediately after the election, within two weeks, insecurity will cease. This insecurity is being fueled by certain individuals,” he stated.
ZINGTIE reports that the security situation recently worsened, with several military commanders and soldiers tragically losing their lives in the line of duty.
President Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Monday to discuss the growing security concerns.
