Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, has left the African Democratic Congress and moved to the Labour Party.
The Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party in Abia State, Emenike Iroegbu, who confirmed the development, said the lawmaker has officially aligned with the party.
Abaribe’s latest switch marks another phase in a political career known for strategic realignments across party platforms.
It would be recalled that he joined the ADC in December last year after exiting the All Progressives Grand Alliance, under which he secured reelection in the 2023 elections.
His stay in the ADC lasted only a few months before the latest development.
Senator Abaribe is currently serving his fifth term representing Abia South Senatorial District.
As of the time of filing this report, the senator has not released any personal statement to confirm or deny the defection.
