The All Progressives Congress (APC) has yet to respond to reports concerning the resignation of its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
It was reported that the former governor of Kano State stepped down from his role as APC National Chairman with immediate effect.
The resignation was reportedly due to health reasons, as Ganduje wanted to prioritize his personal well-being.
The news of Ganduje’s resignation was first shared on X by Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday.
Ahmad wrote: “The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources.”
Efforts to reach APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, for a comment on the matter were unsuccessful; he neither answered calls nor replied to messages.
Sources say Ganduje’s resignation followed mounting pressure from influential figures within the APC’s North-Central region.
This zone has been demanding that the National Chairman’s position be returned to their region.
Additionally, there was internal dissatisfaction with Ganduje’s leadership approach.
