Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has stated that a current national vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is likely to take over from Abdullahi Ganduje.
Ganduje stepped down from his role as the party’s National Chairman on Friday.
The party’s National Working Committee is now expected to name a replacement who will assume the role in an interim capacity.
Ahmad, in a post on his official Facebook page, said one of the vice chairmen will replace Ganduje “until a substantive chairman is elected at the national convention scheduled for December 2025”.
His post reads, “The former National Chairman of our party would be succeeded in acting capacity by one of the party’s national vice chairmen until a substantive chairman is elected at the national convention scheduled for December 2025.”
