Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has responded to a widespread slogan stating he would serve only one term in office.

Yusuf stated that he would serve one term with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and his second term with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a video, the governor was responding to the Hausa ‘Falle Daya’ (One term) slogan against him while addressing a group.

He said: “Actually, it is only one term in the NNPP party. We will do the second term in the APC.

“As for the ADC party that they have returned to, it will not even do one term, not ever.”

Yusuf recently switched to the APC from the NNPP during a political crisis involving his estranged political mentor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

In proclaiming his defection, the governor stated that he made the decision “in the best interest of the people of Kano. State.”

Before his defection, Yusuf had stepped down from the NNPP, citing “deepening internal crises” and “prolonged leadership disputes” as reasons.
