Monday saw the interment of the remains of the late 24-year-old Nollywood makeup artist Abigail Fredrick in her birthplace of Ikot Udoma, in the Akwa Ibom State local government area of Eket.

Actor Junior Pope was one of the five members of the film crew that died last Wednesday when their boat overturned on the River Niger, including Frederick.

ZINGTIE reports that once it was claimed she was buried by the riverbank, Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, ordered her body to be brought back to the state for a befitting burial.

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, her body was exhumed under the governor’s order. It was also reported that a candlelit march was organized in her honor.

Facebook user Ubong David posted images from the funeral on Monday, stating: “Today, the late Abigail Frederick, the Nollywood makeup artist who tragically lost her life in the ill-fated boat mishap, has been laid to rest at the family compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area.

“The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ, Ikot Udoma, and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Eket Transition Committee Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey; Commissioner for Tourism, Charles Udoh; SA on Entertainment, Moses Eskor; Godfada Uko, members of the Eket Transition Committee; Nollywood actress Eve Esin; the Nollywood community, friends, and sympathizers.”
