Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has raised concerns over an alleged plan to disrupt the ongoing governorship election in the state, claiming that a police officer from Rivers State was brought into Osun for the purpose.

Adeleke identified the alleged officer as “London”, said to be from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and called on security authorities to be vigilant.

The governor made the allegation shortly after voting at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.

Adeleke, who is contesting the election on the platform of the Accord Party, appealed to the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies to investigate the claim and monitor the alleged officer.

“I want the Inspector-General of Police and all the security agencies to watch out, to be on the lookout for a police officer from Port Harcourt,” Adeleke said.

He urged the police and other relevant security agencies to take appropriate steps if the allegation is established.

The governor also alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was planning to circumvent the established process for the collation of election results.

“I have it on authority that they don’t want to go through the normal process from units to ward and to local government,” Adeleke alleged.
