Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Florentino Perez will personally determine Real Madrid’s next manager in the coming days, amid reports linking Jose Mourinho with a return to the club.

This development comes as speculation continues to grow over a possible comeback for Mourinho to the Spanish capital.

Providing an update on the situation, Romano, in a post on Facebook, stated that Perez maintains an “absolutely excellent” relationship with Mourinho, who remains a strong contender.

However, the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager is not the only candidate being considered, as three other options are also under review to replace current boss Alvaro Arbeloa.

Arbeloa is expected to depart Real Madrid at the end of the season, prompting the club to fast-track its search for a permanent replacement.

“Florentino Perez is going to decide personally who is going to be Real Madrid’s next coach.

“The relationship between Mourinho and Perez is absolutely excellent. So Mourinho is for sure a candidate. He is not the only one; there are three more candidates.”
