Nigerian airline ValueJet has announced plans to launch direct flights from Lagos to Banjul, The Gambia, starting May 15, 2025. The new route aims to strengthen economic ties between Nigeria and The Gambia, providing greater access to the country’s growing tourism industry.

According to the airline, flights will depart Lagos on Thursdays and Sundays, while return flights will depart Banjul on Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 a.m., arriving in Lagos at 5:00 a.m. The flights will operate from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s new terminal, and tickets are currently available on the airline’s website.
ValueJet’s Managing Director, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, saying, “The launch of our Lagos to Banjul flight is an important milestone in ValueJet’s vision to promote travel options and connectivity within West Africa.”
Majekodunmi added, “We are proud to play a part in bridging distances and fostering closer economic ties between the people and businesses of Nigeria, The Gambia, and beyond, as well as opening new opportunities for trade and tourism.”
