The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, is leading a protest in Abuja calling for the removal of President Bola Tinubu.

In a video from the demonstration, Sowore could be seen at the forefront of the protesters as they moved through some streets in the nation’s capital, chanting ‘Tinubu must go’.

The demonstrators also held placards bearing images of President Tinubu alongside the inscription, ‘Tinubu must go’.

Sowore is currently standing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a two-count charge relating to alleged cyberstalking and criminal defamation of President Tinubu.

The case was brought by the Department of State Services, DSS, under the amended Cybercrimes Act, following social media posts made by Sowore in August 2025 in which he described President Tinubu as a “criminal”.
