Four members of the Super Falcons Rasheedat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Michelle Alozie, and Chiamaka Nnadozie have been named in the Best XI for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Technical Study Group responsible for the tournament made the selections.
Nnadozie, who earned the title of best goalkeeper, recorded four clean sheets during the competition held in Morocco.
She allowed only two goals from open play, both coming in the final against Morocco.
Alozie was recognized as the best right-back of the tournament.
The Houston Dash defender appeared in five out of Nigeria’s six matches throughout the event.
Versatile winger Esther Okoronkwo impressed with her skill and speed.
Okoronkwo scored two goals and provided six assists over six games representing Nigeria.
The AFC Toronto player also earned two Woman of the Match awards.
Captain Ajibade was honored as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
At 24 years old, she contributed one goal and two assists during the competition in Morocco.
Ajibade also secured three Woman of the Match awards.
