Aliyu Audu, a former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Bola Tinubu, has pledged to oppose the President’s bid for re-election in 2027.

Audu, who recently stepped down from his role in the administration, disclosed that throughout his time in office, he never had direct access to the President.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Thursday, Audu criticized the President for what he described as preferential treatment and a lack of engagement with his own team.

As Convener of the APC Rebirth Movement, Audu expressed frustration over Tinubu’s willingness to meet with entertainment figure Davido and Lagos politician Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, while allegedly sidelining loyal aides.

“I worked for the President for nearly two years. I didn’t have a sit-down with him. I’m one of his spokespersons. But he sat with Davido, who insulted him a couple of weeks before. Then he sat with that Jandor, who didn’t even come second in the Lagos election. It doesn’t make sense,” he said.

It will be recalled that shortly before Audu’s resignation, President Tinubu hosted Davido and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos.

Similarly, in March, Jandor, the PDP’s former governorship candidate in Lagos, had an audience with the President following his defection from the party.
