The latest gift builds on the Walker Foundation’s previous support, which has helped establish several named scholarships and fellowship funds. According to Mandy Macke, executive director of the Walker Charitable Foundation, “Our investment in education is demonstrated by our ongoing support for the U of A and its students, faculty and staff.”

Macke emphasized the impact of the scholarship, saying, “The Land of Opportunity Scholarship will create life-changing opportunities for countless students across Arkansas and embodies our commitment to improving educational access for those with significant financial needs.”

The gift is expected to support students with significant financial needs, providing them with opportunities to pursue higher education at the University of Arkansas. The Land of Opportunity Scholarship endowment aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students across Arkansas
