Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly seeking to secure a new contract for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia before the winner of the Ballon d’Or is revealed.

According to Le’Equipe, the French champions want to complete the renewal before the award announcement to avoid facing tougher negotiations should the Georgian winger emerge as the winner.

Discussions between Kvaratskhelia’s representatives and PSG have reportedly been underway for several weeks.

The talks are said to have advanced significantly, with both parties believed to be closing in on an agreement.

The proposed extension would keep the forward at the club until either 2030 or 2031 and would also come with an improved salary package.

Kvaratskhelia helped PSG secure both the Ligue 1 and Champions League trophies last season and is regarded as one of the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or, which is scheduled to be announced next month.
