Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has identified Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the player who would have won the 2026 Ballon d’Or if the World Cup was not taking place this year.
Del Piero made the remark while working as a pundit for Sky during Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League triumph over Arsenal at the weekend.
According to the Italian football icon, no player has shown the same level of consistency and impact as Kvaratskhelia this season in terms of goals, assists, and overall performances.
“If there were no World Cup, Kvaratskhelia would definitely win the Ballon d’Or from the Champions League,” Del Piero said.
“Nobody has been as determined as him in terms of goals, assists and performances on the pitch.”
Kvaratskhelia was recently named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season after registering 10 goals and six assists during the competition.
