Colombian international Luis Diaz has identified Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane as his top choice to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Diaz, who plays alongside Kane at Bayern Munich, made the statement during a recent interview with ESPN.

“For me, he [Kane] is the number one candidate to win it [the Ballon d’Or]. Hopefully, he can achieve it,” Diaz said.

Kane has already secured a place among the 30 players shortlisted for this year’s Ballon d’Or following his outstanding displays for both club and country.

The England international is expected to face stiff competition from Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe for the prestigious individual honour.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or winner will be unveiled in October, with Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele having claimed the award last year.
