Bayern Munich forward, Harry Kane has identified himself and teammate, Michael Olise, as two of the leading contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.

Kane also stated that their major challenge could come from Paris Saint-Germain, who successfully defended their UEFA Champions League title.

According to the England captain, an English player could “surely” claim the prestigious individual award if the England national football team go on to win the FIFA World Cup in North America.

“I’m definitely among the favorites for the Ballon d’Or,” Kane said.

“If England win the World Cup, surely you can see an English player winning it.

“When you look at the favorites: You have myself, Olise, and the players in the Champions League final.

“I saw that the ceremony was in London, and maybe that’s a good omen for me. Winning it in my hometown would make it even more special.”
