Liverpool star Mohamed Salah believes he currently has the strongest opportunity yet to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.

The Egyptian forward has had a standout season with Liverpool, playing a pivotal role in their Premier League title triumph.

At 32, Salah has so far tallied 28 goals and provided 18 assists, and is also leading the Golden Boot race this season.

The recipient of the Ballon d’Or will be announced on September 22, and Salah is widely regarded as one of the top contenders.

“I would say I never had a season like this and winning big trophies.

“So I would say this is my best chance to get it right now while I’m in the club because it’s been a crazy year, a crazy season with a trophy,” Salah told Sky Sports.

He is currently up against tough rivals for the award, including Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé and Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal.
