Real Madrid have set their sights on two potential midfield signings as they prepare for the departure of veteran playmaker Luka Modric.
The club has officially announced that Modric will be leaving this summer, with his final LaLiga appearance scheduled for Saturday against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Croatian international is expected to exit after Real Madrid completes their FIFA Club World Cup campaign later this year.
According to Cadena SER, the Spanish giants are considering Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Bayer Leverkusen’s Exequiel Palacios as possible replacements for the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner.
Modric arrived at Real Madrid in 2012 from English side Tottenham Hotspur. Over the course of his illustrious career at the club, the 39-year-old has collected 28 major trophies, including six UEFA Champions League titles and four LaLiga championships.
