Nigerian military forces, supported by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, have reportedly taken control of an ISWAP terrorist camp in the Damboa area of Borno State.
A video capturing troops and CJTF operatives at the location has surfaced following the reported military operation.
The footage was posted on X by BSN, an investigative news platform.
Reports indicate that several insurgents abandoned the camp and fled as the troops advanced, leaving behind weapons, equipment and other items.
The development comes amid continued security challenges in Borno State, one of the areas most severely affected by Boko Haram insurgency and ISWAP activities in Nigeria’s Northeast.
The Nigerian military, working alongside local security formations such as the CJTF, has sustained operations aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds, disrupting insurgent activities and improving security in communities affected by the conflict.
