The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspects following the circulation of a viral video showing suspected miscreants allegedly harassing motorists along a road in the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the development in a statement shared on her X handle on Thursday while reacting to the footage.

The video captured suspected miscreants allegedly attempting to damage the side mirror of a vehicle, triggering concerns among residents and motorists.

Adebisi explained that the police had already been monitoring the activities of individuals suspected of engaging in such conduct before the video emerged online.

She disclosed that six suspects were later apprehended along the same road in connection with the reported incident.

“The command wishes to clarify that it had already been on the lookout for, and taking proactive measures against, miscreants involved in such activities even before the said video surfaced online.

“Following the incident, six suspects have been arrested on the same road, and an investigation is ongoing,” she said.

The police spokesperson further revealed that more officers had been deployed to the area to improve surveillance and prevent similar incidents.

She thanked members of the public for alerting the command to the situation and encouraged residents to continue sharing reliable and timely information with security authorities.

Adebisi assured Lagos residents that the command would continue to protect motorists and members of the public while intensifying efforts to curb criminal activities across the state.
