Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a former secretary to the Edo State government, has expressed interest in running for governor of the state in 2024.

On Wednesday, Ize-Iyamu announced his decision to run for office once more using the All Progressives Congress, APC, platform.

The former SSG declared that he will adhere to his prior SIMPLE the plan, which stands for Public/Private Partnership, Security, Infrastructure Development, Manpower Development, Leadership by Example, and Employment Creation.

With his present declaration, Ize-Iyamu is attempting a third attempt to win the Edo governorship.

He entered the 2020 election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated him.

“Having served as Secretary to the State Government and a previous governorship candidate of the party, I possess the required experience to be governor,” he stated in his statement.

“We lost the 2020 election because our leaders outside the state chose to vote against us.”
