Nadeem Anjarawalla, a Binance executive on the run after escaping from jail in Nigeria, has been taken into custody by the Kenya Police Service.

There are hints that he may be extradited to Nigeria this week by the International Police Organisation, or INTERPOL.

This was revealed to ZINGTIE on Monday by an EFCC source who was dependable and who wished to remain anonymous.

“Anjarawalla has been arrested in Kenya by the Kenya Police Service through intelligence by the International Police Organisation. Nigeria has kickstarted talks with INTERPOL about his extradition,” the source said.

Anjarawalla, who escaped from legal custody in Nigeria, was discovered in Kenya, according to a report from ZINGTIE.

In a statement released in March, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukuyede stated that the Commission is working with INTERPOL, the US, UK, Northern Ireland, and Kenyan authorities to extradite Anjarwalla.

The Commission had levied a five-count accusation against Tigran Gambaryan, Anjarwalla, and Binance Holdings Limited, the company’s executives, alleging currency speculating, money laundering, and tax evasion.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, EFCC arraigned Binance and the two executives.

Recall that on March 22, Anjarwalla broke free from prison and has been on the run ever since.
