Mashenka Reid, a teenage girl, is accused of shooting her younger brother and father to death before dialing 911 for herself.

The incident occurred in the American state of Nevada, specifically in Reno.

According to court documents, Reid admitted to the Nevada dispatcher that “I just couldn’t resist the urge to kill somebody.”

According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, Reid, 17, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon when authorities discovered her brother and father dead from gunshot wounds in their Reno apartment.

Although Reid’s younger sister was also at home, she managed to escape by hiding in a locked bedroom, which took the intervention of a police officer to free her.

According to the report, the neighbor who heard the gunshots and called for aid made the initial 911 call on the incident.

According to an affidavit filed in Reno Justice Court that the tabloid was able to receive, authorities claimed that Reid herself called 911 and purportedly admitted to killing her family members.

“I shot my dad. I shot my brother. My brother is dead.

“I just couldn’t resist the urge to kill somebody,” she allegedly told the emergency operator, the document said.

Reid added that she left the Walther PPS, the alleged murder weapon, inside the flat.

According to the complaint, her father was found in the garage with gunshot wounds to his chest and back, while her brother was found lying on the couch with a gunshot wound to the head.

The officials did not provide any information regarding a potential motive for the double homicide.

Two counts of open murder and one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon have been brought against Reid as an adult. Her bail hearing is scheduled for in court on Thursday.
